On Tuesday night Fred Vanvleet made Raptors history of sorts as he scored a career high 54 points with 11 3 point shots, as the Raptors defeated the Orlando Magic 123-108.
Fred is only one of two Raptors to score 50+ points in one game, the only other Raptor to score 50 or more points in one game was Demar DeRozan when he dropped 52 on Milwaukee on New Year’s Day 2018.
He was the only player from the 2016 draft who had not been selected by any team. He eventually joined the Raptors and played for their affiliate team the Raptors 905.
Fred was brought up from the G-League to play the Toronto Raptors in the 2017 season. Averaging 11 points per game, Vanvleet instantly became a vital part of the Raptors Back court.
An NBA Champion in 2019 his scoring touch led the Raptors to their Franchise first NBA Championship.
A free agent last off-season he signed a 4 year 80 million dollar deal with the Raptors.
Currently, the Raptors are 10-12. Let’s see if Vanvleet’s offence can continue to help the team rise in the Eastern Conference Standings.
Fred’s offence contribution will be important going forward especially if the teams has any hope of getting to another championship.
This team’s success depends on Vanvleet, that is why he needs to be scoring consistently game in and game out.
I am not expecting him to score 54 points every night, but I want to see him giving everything he has every game.
