With the first round of the NBA playoffs behind us which of the eight teams that are remaining would you predict become the NBA Champion in 2019. Let’s look at the match-ups a little closer, starting with the Toronto Raptors who are taking the Philadelphia 76ers:
The Raptors are a team that has been up and down when it comes to the playoffs, after being swept by Lebron and the Cavs last year.
But the trade worked out not only that but the Raptors also and add players like Marc Gasol, Jeremy Lin, Jody Meeks, Patrick McCaw, and Eric Moreland. To me, that is depth to be a championship team.
When I look at Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics I see all the ingredients of what could be a potential contender for the Championship but will they be able to get through a seven-game series with the Milwaukee Bucks, who in my mind are another team that has what it takes to dethrone the Golden State Warriors.
Giannis Antenekumpo, Eric Bledsoe, Nikola Mirtioc, Malcolm Brogdon, Brook Lopez, etc. Now with that amount of firepower, I think the Bucks have just as much of a chance to challenge for the title as any of the other seven teams currently fighting to reach that goal.
Portland is another team that scares, they could be another team if given the opportunity could be a contender for the Warriors title as champion but like the 76ers I fear that the lack of depth with the Blazers could be an issue, but before they can think about the finals they have to worry about the Nuggets who looked like a team that is ready to take that next step as a playoff team.
This year’s NBA playoffs have a lot of intrigue, excitement, and drama that will unfold as we get to the finals, at this moment everyone has the Warriors three-peating as NBA Champs which a lot of the Basketball experts predict could very well happen.
But let’s see how all of these second match-ups play out personally speaking it would not shock to see a Raptors vs Warriors final. However, the Raptors will have their hands full with Giannis and the Bucks, and I feel Kawhi and the Raptors will come out on top and move on to play the Warriors for the NBA crown.
And if the Raptors win it will be the first time in NBA History that the Larry O’ Brien Trophy has been won by a non-American team.
