It has been a tough season for the Toronto Raptors, playing away from the Air Canada Centre and then having to deal the Covid-19 back in March. With all of that, their chances of making the play-in tournament ride on the final five games.
Thursday night’s game against the Washington Wizards was a crucial one, as it would have determined the fate of whether Toronto would have a chance to make the playoffs, unfortunately Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal had other plans.
The Wizards managed to pull out an overtime victory over the Raptors 131-129.
Then tonight the Raptors had another game that was an absolute must against the Memphis Grizzlies, and again the Raptors came up short 109-99. With 5 games left it is unlikely the Raptors will catch Washington as they defeat Indiana 133-132 in overtime.
Now the focus is on Indiana, in order for the Raptors to have a shot of making it into the play-in tournament they have to run the table while the pacers have to lose all of the remaining games.
I am an internal optimist so let’s see how the remaining five game play out. Hopefully Toronto can find a way to put themselves in the playoffs.
