Last night’s game against the Chicago Bulls was a tough one for the Toronto Raptors. It has been a season that the team would soon rather forget, just like the game last night. Zach Lavine, Patrick Williams, and Colby White were too much for the Raptors to handle.
Toronto got the game down to single digits but again Chicago’s young talent kept coming at the Raptors, especially when it came to three-point shooting, as the Bulls shot 40% from three point range while the Raptors shot a dismal 32%.
The entire game from start to finish was dominated by Chicago. Not to make excuses for the Raptors but they were under-manned last night as they only had eight players in the line-up.
The question now is with 20 games left in the season do the Raptors have enough fuel in their tank to make a push for the playoffs?
I am starting to think that maybe it would be in the team’s best interest to tank.
I am not someone who believes in tanking the season.
But at the same time I don’t know if getting beat in a one game playoff would do much for the team’s confidence.
I mean this team has had so much adversity thrown at it, from Pascal Siakam, and Fred VanVleet missing games due to COVID-19 protocols to Norman Powell being traded etc.
I think planning for next year would be better suited for the Raptors.
What do you think?
