For the first time since 2010, the Los Angeles Lakers are heading back to the NBA finals. Their game five win over the Denver Nuggets helped punch their ticket to play the Miami Heat for the Larry O’ Brien trophy.
The Denver Nuggets who had fought all the way to the Conference finals came up short. But big props go out too Coach Michael Malone who had his team well prepared for a fight against the number one seed in the West.
Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Jerami Grant, Paul Milsap and to a less extent Gary Harris all played will but it just wasn’t enough to overcome the Lakers. They have nothing to be ashamed of.
I truly believe the Nuggets will be a championship in the next two or three years. But now it’s on to the finals.
This will be LeBron’s 10th Finals appearance in his 17 year career, the ironic thing is he is facing a former team he played for in 2010.
My question is will Miami be able to contain both LeBron and Anthony Davis? Will Miami’s offense be able to find holes in the Lakers Defence? Will Guys like Goran Dragic, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo be difference makers?
These are questions that will be answered once this series starts on Wednesday. And to be honest I can’t wait!
I have never cheered for any other than the Raptors, well that’s not true I was a Bulls fan for a long time. But in this series I am cheering for the Heat.
Will the Heat be able to match-up against the Beast from the West in the Los Angeles Lakers let’s wait and see.
