Changes looming after the Celtics swept 76ers:

Another poor performance in the playoffs by the Philadelphia 76ers causes Brett Brown to lose his job. After seven years as the coach of the 76ers, General Manager Elton Brand decided it was time for a change. Brown’s coaching has been the best, but I believe it goes beyond coaching in this situation.

In Brown’s seven-year tenure as head coach had a win-loss record of 221 wins and 344 losses not very efficient if you ask me. Now was that because Brown did not have the personnel on the floor or was it his coaching style? Whatever the issue was it is no longer relevant.

The question now is what next? The front office has a lot of money tied to four players:

Joel Embiid: Signed a 5 year 147,000,000 contract

Tobias Harris : signed a 5 year $180,000,000 contract

Ben Simmons: signed a 5 170,000,000 contract

Al Horford: signed a 4 year 109,000,000 contract

houghMy issue isn’t the monetary value attached to each of these players; my problem is the effort lack thereof on the basketball court. As the 76ers were getting to play the Celtics, I believe that Philadelphia would match-up well, I had no idea this series would end in a sweep, but it did.

Now comes the off-season with a lot decision to make about this team going forward about who stays and who goes. Well let’s see if Brand is able to make those hard decisions.
