It was 1971 when the Milwaukee Bucks last won the championship, and it comes full circle as the Bucks win the NBA championship in 2021. It took six games but the Bucks came out victorious against Chris and the Phoenix Suns.
The Suns who had a 2-0 lead in the series but for whatever reason could not find a way to close out the Bucks.
Games 3 to 6 were very much in the favour of Milwaukee as team defense was what helped them secure the chip. But it wasn’t just their defense I also feel the Giannis Antetokounmpo’s offense was also another key factor.
A veteran of 16 nba season this year was supposed to be the year that Chris Paul won his very first Championship, unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be.
What does that mean though will he retire without winnning a chip? I don’t see that happening.
What I do see though is one of two things. 1. Chris Paul could run it back with the Suns next season and possibly win the elusive championship he has been longing for.
Or he could take less money opt out of his current contract and chase a chip with another team?
Another question is what role would LeBron play in all of this? Could LeBron potentially try and convince Paul to come join him and Anthony Davis in Los Angeles?
Well I think at this juncture anything is possible. But whatever Chris Paul decides to do in the off-season I hope for his sake it’s the right decision.
It would be nice to see a first ballot hall of famer close out an amazing career with a championship.
Could it be in Phoenix or elsewhere? We will have to wait to see
