Alex Rodriguez buys a stake in the Minnesota Timberwolves:

Alex Rodriguez and Walmart executive Marc Lure are finalizing a deal to purchase both the Minnesota Timberwolves and the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx for 1.5 Billion dollars. But the current owner of both the Wolves and Lynx would keep control until 2023.

Rodriguez last year swung for the fences pardon the pun there to buy his hometown New York Mets but struck out, as Billionaire Hedge Fund Manager Steve Cohen beat him to it.

What made A-rod want to buy one let alone two Basketball teams?

Well whatever the reason was I am sure both him and Lure have big plans for the Timberwolves and Lynx. Interestingly enough this is not the first time a former/current player has bought another sports team, a few weeks ago LeBron James but a stake in the Boston Red Sox.

It will be exciting times for the fans of the Wolves and the Lynx.

Here is wishing the best to A-Rod and Marc Lure on their new venture into the NBA and WNBA.

I sincerely hope it is a successful one.
