Sunday, the Basketball world lost an icon in Kobe Bryant, and his 13-year-old Daughter Gianna Bryant died in a helicopter crash. The amazing thing to me watching Kobe was how quickly he was an impactful player. I said he was more impactful than Michael. Kobe was someone who expected his teammates to play just as hard as he did every game.
That is what he called the Mamba Mentality. A lot of his peers in Basketball considered him to he arrogant and cocky, and maybe he was right to be cocky and proud as he led the Los Angeles Lakers to five championships. After winning Multiple championships together, things started getting tense.
Shaq requested a trade to the Miami Heat, where he won his first Championship without Kobe. Mind you, Kobe did the same in the 2008-09 season when he led the Lakers to their fourth championship. But the question remained; Would these two ever resolve their issues? No one knew except them.
He will always be known for his hard work, dedication, and solid work ethic. In my mind, there will never be one like him, not now, not ever. Kobe was about winning Championships, but he main focuses as I said before, it was to be the best basketball player ever.
I believe that he was striving to be the next Michael Jordan, and you know what he very well could have been if injuries had not been a factor, I could have seen Bryant winning two possibly three more championships.
